Halloween kick off!

A couple days later, Lukas and Erin came over for a pumpkin painting party. The boys had a blast! Running around, playing with toys and painting pumpkins...and Erin and I drank some much deserved wine :-)

Beautiful!

We had so much fun painting the pumpkins, that we decided to make some door decorations.
I cut out the pieces and Tripp put them in place (okay, I might have helped him a little ;)

In the meantime, I am completing an independent study in scene painting at Eastern State University...basically I'm paying them to let me paint their sets.
I need 9 more theatre credit hours to get a duel certification..
Here's my progress so far.

Today, Tripp & I went to Glastonbury to support my Art Clubbers.
On the way, we stopped at D'n'D for some munchkins. Tripp was very excited to taste the special Halloween sprinkle donut holes. Yummy!

The Art Cub worked with the Town Center Initiative and painted 15 storefront windows on and around Main Street, Glastonbury.

It was a miserable day - weather wise. These kids are troopers!

My Politician moment. Photo Op with Darci, the event coordinator
and some ladies from TCI and the Board of Ed.

A finished, crazy creepy vampire fruit & veggie window.

Then it was home for lunch and off to the local strip mall for
Safe Trick or Treat and Spooky Stories.

Mommy got dressed up too.

Spooky Stories
Check out Tripp lounging - too funny!
Checking out his Loot.
Not too much candy - he opted for stickers
At each store he would proudly present his pumpkin bucket and say Trick O Treat! Then Thank You, followed by AAARRRRRR!

We're ready for Trick or Treat next week!

Columbus Weekend

Welcome to our new Blog!
It seems as though we overloaded our picture allowance in Tripp's blog, so we used a new email address and started this one. This time our blog will be about all of our adventures.
Columbus Day Weekend was full of activities for all of the Copley's.
1st, I left for an overnight backpack with my Outdoors Club. We decided to hike Bear Mountain on the AT (Appalachian Trail)
GHS Outdoors Club 2009-10

It was a girls weekend
Bob & Tripp stayed home, while Cedar & I hit the trail

15 students, 2 advisers, 1 teacher volunteer & 1 parent hiker!

Such a good girl! Cedar wore her booties for the steep climb up Bear Mountain. I guess she remembers tearing up her paws in the Adirondacks.
In the summer of '2006, while I was newly pregnant with Tripp, we went hiking in the high peaks region of the Adirondacks, and then canoeing in the 1000 lakes of NY. During these trips, Cedar tore up her paws and we had to give her puppy first aide. We cleaned her wounds, put some first aide ointment on her , wrapped her paws in gauze, ace bandaged her paws (with special dog bandages) and then bought these booties. We would repeat this process several times a day.
Lesson learned: when hiking rocky mountain tops = wear booties!

The kids couldn't believe there was a "toilet" in the middle of the woods!

Lion's HeadWhen I got home, Bob went to a concert - Yonder Mountain String Band. A Bluegrass Jam Band that we LOVE. We could've gotten a babysitter, but I figured my body would be aching from backpacking, so my booty shaking would be limited. Instead I opted to stay home and snuggle with Tripp.
Don't worry about Bob, he met up with friends String Cheese Steve, Tim & Heather .....
Aaron, Christina & Rob
He had a great time with good friends and booty shaking tunes!

On Columbus Day, Bob went to work and Tripp & I met up with friends, Lukas & Erin at Buell's Orchards for their Fall Festival.
